spiff development

development currently uses xerces for xml related functionality. its my feeling that the xerces dll is rather large at 2+ mb, i may look at expat or another xml lib. i'm not against making my own parser, just would rather focus my attention on things not implemented rather than making square wheels.

ill post some development screen shots in the near future.
